Temporomandibular disorder (TMD) can cause pain in the jaw joint, as well as in the muscles that control jaw movement. The origins of this disorder are often difficult to pinpoint and it may be caused by multiple factors, such as genetics, injuries to the jaw, and arthritis, among others. This disorder is treatable with non-surgical treatments, although some patients do require surgery in the end. Full monitoring by an interdisciplinary team offers excellent results for patients with TMD and orofacial pain.

Minimally invasive surgery, like arthroscopy, resolves the majority of cases that require surgical intervention.

Treatment and intervention for tumours vary according to each patient's pathology, their current stage of growth and symptoms. We perform ablative surgery on head and neck cancer, sentinel lymph node biopsy for squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity, reconstructive surgery (using microsurgical techniques), and more.

Among the many interventions we perform, some of the most notable are maxillary corticotomies, surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion (SARPE), orthognathic surgery (monomaxillary and bimaxillary) and mentoplasty.

Maxillary atrophies are a huge challenge when it comes to restoration with dental implants.
