Quirónsalud Group
We are Quirónsalud
We are Quirónsalud
We are the largest hospital group in Spain and following a merger with the German company, Fresenius-Helios, we are the largest hospital group in Europe.
At Quirónsalud we will focus on your case in a personalised way to offer you the best possible treatment plan. And we will do so by making all our human and technological resources available to you
We have world-renowned doctors in all medical and surgical specialities. Therefore, we can give you an expert and multidisciplinary view of your case and provide you with comprehensive treatment.
Thanks to our commitment to research, our patients can access truly innovative treatments. In 2018 we began almost 1,500 clinical research studies, of which 800 were clinical trials.
Our centres are governed by strict safety controls and have the highest standards of quality. Each year we analyse indicators that show us patient expectation and satisfaction levels, so that we can continue to improve.
In order to offer you the most precise treatments, we have Spain’s first Proton Therapy Centre, 7 da Vinci surgical robots, 1 Gamma Knife radiotherapy unit, 1 Cyberknife radiotherapy unit, 24 linear accelerators, 14 PET-CT scanners, 7 hybrid operating theatres, 17 x 3 Tesla MRI scanners, and much more.
We provide the G24 service, through which international patients can answer any administrative queries via the following email address: g24@quironsalud.es
At Quirónsalud we have an international team that will assist you during your stay at our hospitals, offering you a personalised care service.
We're available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on +34 901 123 456. You can also contact us by emailing infocare@quironsalud.es.
We will organise your medical, hospital and diagnosis appointments via your personal coordinator.
Quirónsalud has 53 general hospitals in Spain, meaning we have an extensive medical team that can treat all specialities. We perform more than 488,450 operations each year.
Our patients have different needs, from general examinations to diagnosing and treating comorbidities, as well as potentially complex diseases.
Once we've received your medical history and a doctor has assessed you, we will provide a treatment proposal with an estimated cost.
Here at Quirónsalud we understand that each patient's medical conditions are unique, for which reason you will be assisted by our personalised patient care coordinators who will help you throughout the process, offering you information on the doctor who may be treating you, our hospitals, deposits and payment, recommendations, and support in communication with third parties on behalf of a patient.
In order for our doctors to assess your medical history and offer you a treatment proposal, we require the following documentation:
We accept medical reports and tests in the following languages: English, Spanish, Russian and Arabic.
To ensure the patient's current medical situation is assessed correctly, we ask for the most recent medical reports and test results (from the last six months).
Every patient is offered treatment and unique care. To this end, the patient's medical history will be assessed by our personalised care coordinators, who will send their data to the doctor and/or medical team that may see to them. We will then send a customised treatment proposal.
Occasionally, our patients prefer to ask for treatment with a specific doctor and/or hospital. If this is the case, please don't hesitate to indicate this when you send us your information.
At Quirónsalud we adapt to our patients' needs. In this regard, we have many years of experience in collaborating with doctors from around the world. Our patients decide if they wish to include their local doctors from the beginning, or only for monitoring surgery and subsequent treatments. We work on an ongoing basis with local doctors in a bid to ensure the best quality and medical care pre-, during and post-treatment.
We aim to minimise unnecessary examinations, especially if they have an impact on the patient's health. However, depending on the quality, resolution and assessment of our specialists, it may be necessary to repeat some tests using more precise, more reliable technology.
The initial diagnosis will depend on the precision of the medical documentation received. Occasionally, our doctors may require further information before presenting a treatment proposal and/or may ask to hold a video call to garner more details about the patient's current conditions.
The initial diagnosis may be subject to additional tests to be carried out in the patient's country of origin, or in our hospitals. Payment must be made before travelling, especially if a Schengen visa is required. In any case, we ask for full payment before any surgical interventions. Please bear in mind that cash payments are limited to €1,000, in accordance with regulations in force in Spain.
We are a preferred partner of many international insurance companies given the accuracy of our treatment proposals, with barely any changes to their financial estimates. However, it is important to remember that variations may occur when additional tests are required or when there are changes made to the medical treatment programme owing to the patient's medical conditions. These cases occur mainly in complex treatments, for example, in oncology. However, we will only provide the patient with a final invoice.
At Quirónsalud we want our patients to be able to see the specialist doctors they need, for which reason we have a team of personalised care coordinators who will organise the medical appointments the patient requires. However, depending on the patient's conditions and speciality required, our doctors may not recommend that the patient undergo treatment for multiple pathologies simultaneously.
Our international team has personalised care coordinators on hand to assist you with your consultations, administrative processes and the information you require about our hospitals and doctors, in addition to support with financial and payment aspects.
Regarding patient stays at Quirónsalud hospitals, we have interpretation services available in multiple languages within our hospitals. Our staff are experienced in this area and can assist in consultations and provide a direction translation with the doctors and hospital staff involved in caring for our patients.
Usually, the communication language used with the medical team will be Spanish or English. Given that 20% of our workforce are non-Spanish workers, and we also have 83 nationalities represented in our Group, some doctors speak other languages (for example, French, Arabic, Italian, Urdu), meaning they can communicate directly with the patient and their relatives in their mother tongue.
Furthermore, the hospital may provide, on request, an interpreter who will accompany the family and patient during their hospital visits. In addition, and according to the judgement of the health professional, the hospital may ask for an interpreter to be present to ensure the family and the patient understand the medical team's explanations about the diagnosis and treatment.
Interpretation services may not be included in the medical care proposal, depending on the language to be translated, the hospital and the doctor. Follow-up video consultations can also be performed with an interpreter and/or local doctor on request.
Our goal is to offer our patients the best medical care possible, therefore, we have local collaborators to assist with non-medical services. Let us know if you require their assistance and we will put you in touch with them.
Patients requiring emergency transport can communicate with our personalised care coordinators who will organise the trip. Our ambulances and helicopters are staffed by Quirónsalud medical teams who care for and transport patients around the world. For more information, please call us on +34 901 123 456.
Visa and customs
Our international team can offer you support with the administrative processes for obtaining a Schengen visa, however, for more information on Schengen visa requirements and processing times, you can contact the Spanish Embassy or Consulate in your home country or visit the website of Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Hotels and accommodation
At Quirónsalud we have numerous agreements in place with leading national and international hotel groups and apartments. Accommodation options will vary from economic to luxury. On request, our personalised care coordinators can send you discount vouchers so you can select the best option for you and your family.
Land transport
If required, our collaborators can organise transfers during your stay, for example, the journey from and to the airport or to our facilities. Contact Quirónsalud's personalised care coordinators for more details on the non-medical services available for international patients.
