Dr. Jesús García-Foncillas has dedicated 25 years to cancer research, something which is inconceivable without practising medicine, since he considers the close collaboration between doctors and patients and personalised and humane care to be paramount.   • On the Board of Directors of the Health 2000 Foundations.
  • Founder and Secretary of the ECO (Oncological Excellence and Quality) Foundation Permanent Committee.
  • Member of the Biosequence International Advisory Committee.
  • Vice-President of the National Commission of Medical Oncology of the Board of Specialisations of the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs between 2007 and 2014.
  • Vice-President of the Oncological Excellence and Quality (ECO) Foundation.
Research and teaching
  • President of the Tenth National Congress of the Spanish Association of Cancer Research (ASEICA), Secretary of ASEICA.
  • President of the Fourth and Fifth Congress of the Spanish Society of Pharmacogenomics and Pharmacogenetics (SEFF).
  • Co-ordinator of the Genomics and Proteomics Programme of the Cancer Centres Network at Carlos III Health Institute.
  • Equally, since 1998, he has been a Corresponding Member of the Royal Academy of Medicine in Zaragoza and since 2005, an Honorary Member of the Mexican Society of Oncology.
