Dr. Javier Herrero Jover
Dr. Javier Herrero Jover earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Central University of Barcelona in 1980. He began his surgical career as an assistant to Dr. Gaspar Jover while working as a resident at the Hospital Clínico in Barcelona. In 1985, he specialized in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the La Fe Hospital in Valencia and furthered his education with postgraduate training at the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, Israel, which led him to focus on research. He also completed a postgraduate program at the Fluminense Clinic in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he honed his surgical excellence. In 1992, he was awarded a Doctorate Cum Laude from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

In 1986, Dr. Herrero Jover joined the Plastic Surgery department at the Hospital General de Catalunya in Barcelona. In 2000, he became part of the Teknon Medical Center, where he currently leads one of the teams specializing in plastic and aesthetic surgery. In 2005, he founded Alma IT Systems, a company dedicated to developing software for medical imaging, with technology now used in over 400 hospitals worldwide.
Dr. Herrero Jover’s international reputation has allowed him to be an active member of various national and international scientific societies, including:

- Catalan Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SCCPRE)
- Spanish Society of Anti-Aging Medicine and Longevity (SEMAL)

- International Society for Computer Assisted Surgery (ISCAS)
- European Society for the Promotion of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems in Medicine (EuroPACS)
He has also served as president of the CARS (Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery) congress on three occasions, a leading event for the integration of technology in the medical field.
Dr. Herrero Jover has contributed extensively to the advancement of his specialty through numerous publications in national and international journals. His research and teaching efforts have significantly impacted the development of both plastic and reconstructive surgery, with a focus on the fusion of surgical expertise and technological innovation.He is a consultant and member of the board of the International Foundation for Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery (IFCARS) and serves as the president of the Mediterranean Institute of Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery (MICARS). In 2024, he was honored as the honorary president of CARS, held at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.
